God Promises You Will Eat Of The Tree Of Life

God promises...

In Revelation 2:7, Jesus promises, “To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” The first time we see this tree is in the Garden of Eden, in Genesis 2:9, where “…the tree of life also (was) in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” These two trees were the physical or tangible means God chose to transact spiritual realities with mankind. The one speaks of the reality of the life of God, the other that of human autonomy. God warned of the dire consequences of partaking of the latter, Genesis 2:17. Because mankind was lured into partaking of that tree those dire consequences were inflicted, and he was banned from the tree of life, Genesis 3:22-24. Now, once again, the tree of life shows up “in the midst of the paradise of God” Revelation 2:7, and Jesus promises that over-comers will once again have access to that tree, which is a perpetual producer of the sustenance of life, Revelation 22:2. Only over-comers will be given fruit from that tree by Him; and there is only one way to be an over-comer, which is “by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony”, Revelation 12:11. Today by repentance and receiving Jesus as Savior we experience His life by faith; but on that day faith will become tangible reality!

I Promise You Will Eat Of The Tree Of Life

-By Rose Hill

He who overcomes the Spirit doth say,
Will eat of the tree of life someday.

And all the victorious ones will hear,
A welcome home from their Savior dear.

The second death their lives will not touch,
For in their Savior they have put their trust.

Rejoice in God’s house you have a place,
And will receive a crown for running the race.

Here in this life you have many sorrows,
But cheer up friend there are better tomorrows.

So look beyond all the problems around,
And take the joy that in your Savior is found.

For he who overcomes the Spirit doth say,
Will eat of the tree of life some day.

[And live forever, 1 John 2:25]
