The Power of God’s Love In Us Expressed In His Word

2 Corinthians 13:11 says we should become complete (in Christ), experience (His) comfort, be like-minded with other believers, and live in peace, and concludes with the promise that “the God of love and peace will be with you.” It was in John 14:23 that Jesus made the statement that those who love Him and keep His word would experience the abiding (intimate, family) love of the Father, and of Jesus Himself. It was this inner family love that was the compelling force motivating the Apostle Paul, not only to live for Christ, but to reflect that love by reaching out and sharing it with others to bring them into the family also, even at the high personal cost of beatings, imprisonments, etc. (see 2 Corinthians 5:14). 1 John 2:24 says, “Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning…”. What did they hear from the beginning? What did we hear from the beginning of our knowledge of, and relationship with, Christ? The word! “And the word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). The power of His word in us, transforming us, and reproducing His love in us, and through us; “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…”( Colossians 3:16).

Love And God’s Word

-By Rose Hill

Jesus said, if you really love Me,

You will keep My word and all will see.

When all My teaching you do obey,

And from My commands you do not stray.

Then My Father will surely love you too,

And come live with you if to Him you’re true.
