Spring

God has so orchestrated His plans and ways so that everything we understand from “nature”, from His creation, has a very similar spiritual truth and application. So do you want to understand more about spiritual life, about God and His ways? Then look to the seasons and to agriculture. Jesus constantly used things the people understood from “nature” to explain things they did not understand about the spiritual life and the kingdom of God. God laid the foundation of seedtime and harvest at the creation in Genesis 1:11-12, 29. Then in Genesis 8:22 He made a covenant with Noah and mankind that “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night, Shall not cease.” We may have to deal with atmospheric changes but the seasons remain when the little seed that is put into the soil bursts forth into new life, and when properly tended, will grow and produce a new harvest! Ecclesiastes 11:6 says “In the morning sow your seed, And in the evening do not withhold your hand; For you do not know which will prosper, Either this or that, or whether both alike will be good.” In other words keep sowing, don’t become discouraged, don’t give up, because the harvest season will come, and don’t wait until the harvest season to begin sowing! Sow the seed of God’s word, His truth, and His work into the soil of your life, and your situations, as well as into the lives of others knowing “He that continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him” Psalm 126:6. Wake up, springtime is coming!
Wake up
By Rose Hill
Wake up little seeds the spring is here,
Come forth from the ground and do not fear.
The sun is shining bright today,
And warm weather is surely on its way.
Wake up my soul the winter is past,
God’s presence is warming my soul at last.
I planted seeds of kindness and they will grow,
The Lord takes note of what I sow.
Wake up big trees towering high,
Your branches reach into the sky.
We want to see your leaves of green,
Your beauty everywhere is seen.
Wake up my soul a fresh new start,
God plants some love within my heart.
He will now make it sprout and grow,
Till it blesses everyone I know.
