One Word Two Manifestations

“Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled (Hebrew stationed, i.e. stands firm) in heaven”, Psalm 119:89. What a wonderful word that we can count on as being sure and steadfast. It is first a cleansing word, “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word”, Psalm 119:9 KJV. And Ephesians 5:26, “that He might sanctify (set apart) and cleanse her (the church) with the washing of water by the word.” It is also an illuminating word, “Your word is a lamp to my feet (it shows me where I stand with You) and a light to my path (it shows me the way to walk with You), Psalm 119:105. And “the entrance of Your words gives light”, Psalm 119:130.  It is also the source of sound and godly doctrine, giving reproof, correction, and righteous instruction, see 2 Timothy 3:16. Obeying its truths is the only grounds to obtaining God’s approval, see 2 Timothy 2:15. It is also a healing word, Psalm 107:20, “He sent His word and healed them …” And Matthew 8:16, He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick.” Always keep in mind and remember there are two manifestations of His word, the Logos (something said), and the Rhema (utterance), we could say written and living. The Logos word is brought into life in us by the Rama word, The Lord Jesus Christ who “became flesh and dwelt among us”, John 1:14, making it alive and active in us, and on our behalf!

God’s wonderful word

By Rose Hill

God’s word is not like any other book,

This you will discover when you take a look.

You might say, that book I don’t understand,

And to me it has not been so grand.

But just pick it up and begin to read,

Even if you don’t plan to take heed.

This first step you must embrace,

Its power will help you the truth to face.

When you don’t even think about what you read,

Or understand what God has said.

As you are faithful to put the word in your soul,

It will begin to take control.

Don’t let anything stop you in this way,

Read it, and read it every day.

For as you read and don’t give up,

It will with joy fill your cup.

God’s word is alive and it will speak,

As you become willing its truth to seek.

Now you will understand what God has said,

For the word has changed you as you read.
