   All For Jesus

Imagine the excitement of a lad in the crowd around Jesus in John 6; when there is a need for food he offers his five barley loaves and two small fish, but Andrew  asks “what are they among so many?” But Jesus took that meager supply, which was obviously all the boy had, gave thanks and told the disciples to distribute it among the crowd, and about five thousand men ate all they wanted and they had twelve baskets full extra! What they did with all that extra food we are not told, but we can guess that Jesus gave it to the lad because that is the way God works! You may think you do not have much to offer to God, but all He wants is all you have and He will take care of the rest! Remember that God chooses the weak, the foolish, the insignificant and least esteemed things of the world to accomplish His purposes, 1 Corinthians 1:27-28. Then Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.” Do it while in this life no matter how small your “talent” may look; God has a place for it!

Entirely His

Selected by Rose Hill, Arthur unknown

There is a joy in serving Christ

Which nothing else can give,

And richest blessing crown the life

When for the Lord we live.

Our “loaves and fishes” brought to Him

He breaks and multiplies,

To feed the hungry souls of men

With bread that satisfies.

How good to be an instrument

Of grace that He can use,

At any time or place,

However He may choose.

A vessel purified and filled

With living water sweet,

A harp divinely tuned and thrilled,

At heaven’s mercy seat!
