God’s Powerful Word

“The word became flesh and dwelt among us…”John 1:14. Just as God manifested Himself to the Hebrew people through the Tabernacle in the wilderness, so Jesus came to manifest Him to us by “Tabernacling” (or dwelling) among us so we can behold and experience His glory. He is God’s living and life changing word in a body of flesh. So how do we distinguish between Him the living word and the Bible the written word? In a sense they are one for everything written in the Bible points to Him, and it is through this means that we see Him today! The world rejects the word and faith in Him as the only way to heaven; 1 Corinthians 1:18 says, “the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but to us who are being saved it is the power of God”, illuminating the way to heaven, as “a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”, Psalm 119:105. It is that living powerful word that is “sharper than any two-edged sword, Hebrews 4:12, that changes us into His image as we introduce and maintain it in our hearts allowing it to guide us away from sin, as Psalm 119:11 says, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You” and making us “strong and the word of God abides in” us, enabling us to overcome the wicked one 1 John 2:14.
The Word Of God
By Rose Hill
The Word of God much power contains,
It saves our souls and heals our pains.
Its message is foolish to those who perish,
But to the saved it’s power to cherish.
His will is to flood our heart with light,
Helps us understand His power and might.
We will be strong to overcome sin,
With endurance and patience we will win.
For the kingdom of God has come in power.
It is within us this very hour.
His kingdom does not consist of talk,
But of power and excellence in our daily walk.
