Doubt or faith?

In Matthew 14:22-33 we are given the account of the time Jesus sent His disciples to the other side of the sea of Galilee by boat while He went up on the mountain to pray. As evening came on a wind-storm arose on the sea, and the disciples toiled against it into the night; but Jesus saw them, knew their situation, and approached them walking on those stormy waters, and seeing Him they thought it was a spirit and terror griped them causing them to cry out in fear, but in His still calm voice Jesus says, “Be of good cheer it is I; do not be afraid.”(NKJV) No matter how great the storm in life you may be going through, no matter how dark the night is, remember the words of the song, “Jesus comes in the midst of the storm”. Peter replies “Lord if it is You, command me to come to You on the water”. (NKJV) He did not presumptively leap out of the boat, but he acted immediately at Jesus command to “come”. As long as he kept His eyes on Jesus and His Word he walked on the water just like Jesus, but when he began to look at the winds and waves he began to sink. If your eyes are fixed on Jesus you can weather the storm, but if you focus instead on those waves surrounding you, you will begin to sink. But if like Peter you cry out to Him He will stretch out His hand to save you. It is then that Jesus said to Peter “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (NKJV) Remember he had Jesus word to “come”. And then when Jesus comes on board there is peace. Doubt or Faith, which one will you follow?
Doubt or Faith
By Rose Hill
Jesus said, “Oh you of little faith, why did you doubt,”
Don’t you know what My kingdom is all about?
If your trust is firm and on Me you rely,
You don’t have to worry and fret and sigh.
For you ask what you will and you will receive,
If only you trust Me and truly believe.
You must not waver or hesitate,
For then your answer will surely be late.
If you’re like the sea, by the wind tossed,
Then your blessings from God will all be lost.
Now you must ask without any doubt,
If you don’t you will have to do without.
