A Reason To Celebrate

The Christmas season – the time we as Christians claim to celebrate the birth of Christ – is a season of love, joy, and peace. The story of Christ’s birth is beautifully wrapped up in one verse, John 3:16; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” The angel that made the first public announcement (to shepherds in the field) said, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.”, Luke 2:10. That angel was then joined by “a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men.”, Luke 2:13-14. Even in a world filled with chaos, sadness, and unrest, the gift God gave still brings joy and peace to those who put their trust in, and their reliance on, Him. And in this, His love manifested, with His joy and peace bestowed upon us, we have the hope of His return, and the assurance of eternal life.

Love, Joy, Peace

-By Rose Hill

May you experience the Father’s love,

That He has sent to you from heaven above.

And as you see the suffering of your fellowmen,

May you take the Father’s love to them.

May you the Spirit’s joy receive,

And in the comforter believe.

For He has come to help this hour,

And in your life give mighty power.

May you experience our Lord’s peace,

From strain and stress find great release.

Upon the Lord casting all your care,

For He does all things that are fair.

At this wonderful time and season,

May you really find a reason;

To praise your God for all He’s given,

And that someday you can go to heaven.
