Sharing The Power of God’s Word

“How shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things” (Romans 10:14-15). “But,” you may be saying, “I have not been called to the office of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, or Teacher.” (see Ephesians 4:11). First of all, Paul writes to the Christians in 2 Corinthians 3:2, saying, “You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men. Not only does this apply to the converts of Paul; all truly born again Christians become epistles (a written message) whose life is read by those around them. Secondly, there are many searching hearts crying out for answers, like the Eunuch in Acts 8:26-40, so be ready to take such opportunities to share with them the good news, in deeds and/or words. Someone once put it like this… “Be a witness for Christ everyday, and use words if necessary.”  Thirdly, Paul teaches us, in Ephesians 6:18-20, the importance of standing behind those who are called into the ministry offices through prayer and supplication. Finally, in Philippians 4:15-17, we are shown the opportunity of financially supporting those called into “full time” reaping in the harvest fields of the world, where it is indicated that the fruit borne through their ministry will also be credited to the record (”account”) of those who, by their support, helped to make it possible.

Our Job In The Kingdom

-By Rose Hill

How does the Lord want us to work for Him,

To bring His light to a world of sin?

We work together first of all,

To do His work both great and small.

Some are called to plant the seed,

And not to worry if none takes heed.

Some will come to water the plant,

Then the increase God will grant.

So if we all do our part,

And pull together from the start.

Faithfully laboring in His field today,

Whether His call is to go or stay.

Working for Him with all our might,

Then our fruit will be just right.
