Over the next eleven weeks Rose’s poetry rhymes will carry us through some of the promises God has made to His chosen people. Just so you make no mistake, His chosen people are all those who take Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior, calling upon Him in truth. Psalm 145:18 says, “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.” To receive Christ as your Savior is by no means a ticket to a trouble-free life in this present world; however it brings with it a promise that He will be with us in trouble and He will help us. In Psalm 46 where Rose’s poetry today is based, we read in verse 1, “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble”, then in verse 5 “God is in the midst of her [His city, His people], she shall not be moved; God shall help her just at the break of dawn”[there may be a dark night but it will end, and “your sun will shine again”], then in verse 10, “Be still, and know that I am God…” In Psalm 91 He has promised victory to the one who sets his love upon Him, (verse 14) and then verse 15 says “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.”
I Promise You Help In Trouble
-By Rose Hill
God is a present help in trouble,
Even when problems are coming double.
If everything seems to fall apart,
Look around for a fresh new start.
You must realize God is real,
He tells you to be calm and still.
God is with you He has not gone,
He will help at the break of dawn.
