God assures us in Jeremiah 29:11-13 that He is thinking about us, and His thoughts are to give us peace and hope; in other words, He wants us to be safe, well, happy, and to have His favor. His thoughts toward us are not for evil; that is He does not want to afflict us with adversity, calamity, distress, ill favor, or death. Lamentations 3:33 says, “For He does not afflict willingly”. While the battles may rage in this life He wants us to enjoy His peace in the midst of the storm, but His ultimate thoughts are to give us “a future and a hope” according to Jeremiah 29:11. In order to receive this ultimate blessing however, we must call upon Him, pray to Him, and seek His face with all our heart (sincerely), and His promise is that when we do, we will find Him (verses 12-13). Yes, this passage looks to the future, but we must initiate it now! 2 Corinthians 6:2 says “Now is the accepted time.”
Hope For Tomorrow
-By Rose Hill
The Lord’s thoughts are with you now,
To overcome evil He’ll show you how.
When you call He will hear,
In seeking Him you’ll find He’s near.
With His peace He wants you to live,
And hope for tomorrow He will give.
