“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” 1 Timothy 1:15. There was only one reason that Jesus came into the world and that was to deliver from the consequences of sin. He came “to seek and to save that which was lost” Luke 19:10. He stepped into the turmoil and chaos of the human race to restore and make it possible for them to “have peace with God” Romans 5:1, which in turn would bring peace among men. The message of Christmas is not about the angels, the shepherds, the manger, Mary and Joseph, the wise men, Herod, or even the star in the sky; the message of Christmas is that the King was born, the “Prince of peace” Isaiah 9:6, “and He shall reign forever and ever” Revelation 11:15. The angels’ joyous message to the shepherds, the message that brought “good tidings of great joy … to all people. For there is born to you this day … a Savior …”, tidings which was “on earth peace, goodwill, toward men” Luke 2:10-14, can only be experienced is as we accept Him as our Savior and Deliverer, entering into His peace which He promised, saying, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you” John 14:27. This is “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding ” Philippians 4:7, and only as it fills our heart can it be experienced among (or between) men. So the question this Christmas season is, do you have this peace, and what are you doing to make it visible and manifest to all men?
Christmas Peace
-By Rose Hill
Jesus came to the earth one day,
To bring us peace and show the way.
The shepherds received the wonderful story,
And told of the greatness of God’s glory.
Praising God for all He has done,
In sending peace through His Son.
