God knew there would be many difficulties in this life, opposition, pressures, trials, demands of life’s necessities, and those of society, Etc. However He instructs His children “to be anxious for nothing” Philippians 4:6-7; the word anxious (translated careful in KJV) is the same word Jesus used in Matthew 6:25 as worry (or take no thought in KJV). This word carries the connotation of being distracted and preoccupied with such things that cause stress, anxiety, and pressures that He warns His children against, knowing that we have a caring heavenly Father watching over us. No we do not just set idly by hoping these will go away, but rather as we face them head on, we rest knowing He will see us through assuring us of ultimate victory. As we face these trials and situations we have a source of refuge that the world around us does not know,, into which we enter “by prayer and supplications WITH THANKSGIVING”; as we tell God all about it in this way His peace can then flood our “hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” There are three key words in Psalm 37:3-5 that tell us to “TRUST in the Lord”, “DELIGHT yourself also in Him”, and “COMMIT your way to” Him. Remember this world with all its difficulties is not our home, but as we pass through it on our way home He will guide us through the maze to better tomorrows as we follow Him along the way!
Only Trust Him
By Rose Hill
God wants to bring us comfort,
In our times of distress.
He wants us to trust in Him,
And He will give us rest.
He has good things to give,
The afflicted and poor.
He wants to heal the brokenhearted,
You can be sure.
For those who are bound,
He wants to set free.
So cast your cares on Him,
And great freedom you will see.
Don’t let your heart be troubled,
When bad things come your way,
But begin to rejoice in your God,
And He’ll send a better day.
