Today we are thinking about the glory of God’s kingdom as revealed in Jesus when He came into the world through human birth. John 1:14 says it like this, “…the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” Isaiah 60:1 prophesies “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.” A promise that would bring hope to captive Israel, but the fullest fulfillment being Messianic. And Romans 9:23-24 tells us “…that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy…even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles”. So both Jews and Gentiles that come to His light and receive His mercy are made partakers of His glory! Romans 5:2 says, “through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” We are now partakers of His glory, and are the manifestations of that glory as He shines out of our inner being; but we also look forward in hope of even greater glory to be fully revealed at His return (see Titus 2:13).
The Glory Of The Kingdom
(Part Two)
-By Rose Hill
When Christ became flesh God’s glory came down,
His grace and loving-kindness to all did abound.
Now we rejoice in Christ our Savior,
Enjoying the glory of God and His favor.
To the objects of His mercy He has made known,
The wealth of His glory to them He has shown.
We arise out of depression and sorrow today,
For the glory of the Lord has come our way.
The life of sin is gone forever,
To Him be glory forever and ever.
