Jesus was intent on doing the work of the kingdom of God during His window of opportunity in this world. In John 9:4-5 He said “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” But soon His window of opportunity in this world (physically) would be gone, and the torch would be passed to His disciples in whom He would live and through whom He would shine; He had already told them in Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world…”, it is now our opportunity to allow His light to shine through us during our window of opportunity here. He bore the sins of every one of us – all mankind – who like wondering sheep had gone astray from the Father (Isaiah 53:6), but it is now, our responsibility and privilege as His disciples to turn them and lead them back to Him pointing them to His light! Proverbs 11:30 says “he who wins souls is wise.” Then Daniel 12:3 has this message: “Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.”
Work
By Rose Hill
There’s work to be done,
Before the setting of sun.
So be on your way,
To a great new day.
God says to us I have work for thee,
All around you can see those who need to be free.
I’ve given you the power,
To help them this hour.
So do not wait,
Until it’s too late.
And don’t be afraid,
For the plans I’ve laid.
Of how you can bring
The wonderer in.
So do what I say,
And witness today.
For if you find the lost sheep,
My words you do keep.
And in My eyes,
You are very wise.
