Soar Like The Eagle

Eagle Soaring

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”  Eagles are amazing birds having eyesight four to eight times that of humans and being able to spot a rabbit two miles away. They fly at cruising speed of about 40 MPH and diving speeds of 125-200 MPH. They reach heights greater than any other bird, using thermal currents of air created by the surrounding terrain, spreading their wings and tail feathers the wind carries them upward to new heights from where they glide down to catch another upward thermal. This soaring saves energy as they do not have to flap their wings as often. No wonder God uses the eagle to teach us invaluable lessons about Himself and our walk and relationship with Him. As we wait on Him, which, in keeping with the Hebrew, is to bind or twist our-self together with Him with expectancy, our strength is renewed, we soar to new heights on the currents of the Holy Spirit far above the fray of this world; because we are not fighting the battle in our own strength by flapping our wings, but rising on these currents of His Spirit, we do not grow weary with the race, nor faint on the journey!

Arise, Expect, and Wait

-By Rose Hill

(Inspired from Joshua 3:1-5 and Isaiah 40:31)

Arise early in the morning and your God seek,

This will give strength and you will not be weak.

When you enter His presence and He shows the way,

Then set out from there and do what He will say.

Sanctify yourself and be set apart,

Give Him your thoughts and all of your heart.

For tomorrow He has promised for your life great things,

Mount up like the eagles and use your wings.

Expect and look for the change you need,

Read God’s word, pray, and sow the right seed.

He has promised to do wonders for those who trust,

So waiting on Him is surely a must.
