God, in speaking to the prophet in Ezekiel 2:8 said, “…hear what I say to you…open your mouth and eat what I give you.” A message that was not only good for Ezekiel, but also for us today. How will we respond to God’s voice, will we be rebellious like the house of Israel in Ezekiel 2, or will we respond with “I will” and eat what He gives us? In Habakkuk 2:1 the prophet says “I will stand my watch” (that is I will lean forward like peering into the distance or being eager to hear what is being said) “And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected.” Our response will be in one of two ways, either “I will” or “I won’t”. Trying to stand on middle ground is unacceptable with God! A continued negative response will bring great loss and eternal remorse; but a positive response will put us in line for multiple blessings, fill us with hope, set us in a position for answered prayer, to be the recipient of His help and strength for each day, and to speak forth the praise of His power. Psalm 34:5 speaking of those who have put their trust in God says, “They looked to Him” (that is they regarded Him with pleasure) “and were radiant,” (that is not only did they sparkle, but figuratively they were cheerful and like a flowing stream)” And their faces were not ashamed” (they did not blush with disappointment or shame).
I Will
By Rose Hill
(Based on Psalm 71:14-16; 34:5; Isaiah 45:22)
I will look and see what He says to me,
I will hope in His promise all the day,
For I know He answers when I pray.
I will go in His strength for I am weak,
Now this day His help I seek.
I will make mention of Your power,
That is available to help me any hour.
