Not only is Jesus the way to God (and heaven) as we saw last week in John 14:6, but He is also the Truth about God, of God, and from God; in verse 9 He said “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” If you really want to see and know God then look at Jesus. If you want to hear what God is saying listen to Jesus, He said “…whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak” John 12:49-50. If you want to see the heart of God, then look at the love and compassion of Jesus: when you see Him weeping with a sorrowing family, John 11:35, you are really seeing the heart of God toward those who are sorrowing and lonely; when you see Him weeping over the city because of their sinful blindness and rejection of Him in Luke 19:41-44, you are seeing the heart of God toward those who blindly continue in their sin! When you see His compassionate healing of the afflicted and suffering in Matthew 14:14, you are looking at the compassion of God toward all that are in need of healing and deliverance. When you see Him set the demonic free in Luke 8:35, you are seeing God’s desire for all those who are held captive by Satan! Yes. Truly He is the truth about God. And do you want to hear the truth of God, then listen to Jesus who said “… the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me” John 14:24. Do you want to hear from God, then look at, and listen to Jesus because God who “spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son…” Hebrews 1:1-2. Surely He is the truth about God, the truth of God, and the truth from God who said “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, Hear Him!” Matthew 17:5.
The way of truth
By Rose Hill
The way of truth are you seeking,
By listening to others do much speaking?
This is not how truth you see;
Jesus said, “You must look to Me,
Then the truth about My Father you will see.”
